However, Monday a neighbor complaint letter from the city arrived in our mailbox and so I said, okay, we will show them! No more piano in the backyard of our student rental house--just a pile of piano parts!
Only O. was available yesterday but she came with a dolly, which helped us with moving the piano out into the lawn without any male assistance. She also came prepared with bare toes--pretty and polished--and so appropriate for a sledgehammer miss! And with gloves (see photo) that were never put on.
Everything is in pieces that would fit into my trash can except for the sounding board. Who wants a unique art piece? Scrap metal? I have all the black keys in a bucket. Craft ideas, anyone?
No one was hurt in this episode of Crazy Adventures with my Senior Friends, but don't try this at home!
We had a little accompanying Music of the Strings with each blow. It was loud enough (or was it our laughter?) that old Wayne from across the street was compelled to amble over to see what was happening.
I do wonder what the city inspector will say now.
Is this still a piano in yard??
And you are wondering why there was a piano rotting away in the backyard? Well, that is another story.
