Eating Around the World

The history of my fun at Epcot in Florida includes, in large part, the great international food and drink that can be experienced there. The last time I visited we had a delicious watermelon & feta salad, beet popsicles with creme fraiche and a fabulous French meal at one of the top Disney restaurants, along with fancy French wine--after beer in Germany and of course, at the pub in the United Kingdom, as well as some tequila drinks in Mexico.

E. had fast passes for two rides, one for the ride through history inside the "big world" and the other a ride that was part indoor test track and part wild outdoor roller coaster--both new to me and worthwhile. Last time we had enjoyed the Soarin' ride (sort of) and the Behind the Seeds tour.

The rest of the time (after buying a pink princess shirt!) we wandered around admiring and photographing the gardens and topiaries, shopping a little, snacking a little, and thinking about where we could have lunch and dinner!

The most beautiful food of the day (with sunshine available on top of a trash receptacle) was the frushi which E. purchased. She shared a tiny taste of it.

The most surprisingly delicious food was our dinner at Spice Road Table. The hummus fries dipped into baba ganoush were amazing. E. sucked on a lamb chop (in the darkening hour at our patio table by the water and fireworks in Morocco) until we thought she must be channeling Toffee!

The  most outrageous food was a Piggylicious Bacon Cupcake with maple frosting, paired with a Maple Bacon Stout from Shipyard Brewing Company of Clearwater which was part of a Florida flight we shared in AMERICA at The Smokehouse Barbecue & Brews.

The last food I will reference on this post is our lunch in a corner of a crowded restaurant in Mexico where we had a tower of chips with some dips while we waited for chicken tortilla soup, which was excellent. The broth was poured from a little silver pitcher at the table by the server, so the tortilla strips would not get soggy--a nice touch. It had some blops of avocado in it too. I ordered a Dos Equis Amber. The restaurant had the dark ambiance of twilight at the hacienda--so here is a flash photo of the soup:

That's about it for Epcot food. I will add some newly imbibed  brews to the beer post!
